New Infrastructure Committee
Do you sometimes wish you could ‘tweak’ things to make them better?
Tedburn St Mary is a thriving community with services and assets; such as the village shop, garage, recreation field, play areas, outdoor gym, village hall, local businesses and pub. And there are potential changes afoot – new housing, wind farm sites, changes to bus services, water supply, post, etc.
So, what can be done to make sure we both protect our community and seek ways to develop it?
With this thought in mind, the parish council is trying to set up a new committee to consider the impact of all new projects and existing challenges on our village.
The difference between the parish council and parish council committees is they can be set up to include both councillors and residents.
We would love to hear from anyone with interests and skills to do with utilities, transport, housing, infrastructure, new projects, IT, marketing, etc. Whatever you can bring to the table would be most welcome or if none of that applies but you are interested anyway, we would love to hear from you.
The committee would be supported by the parish clerk and the council and would feed into the parish council for formal resolutions on projects it has worked on.
Please, please consider supporting this new committee. It will not meet regularly but when required, so it does not need to be a huge commitment. Membership could be flexible, so you only contribute when the committee is dealing with an issue of interest to you or in which you have relevant skills.
Please email the parish clerk on parishclerk@tedburnstmarypc.co.uk or call her on 07932 386023 if you want more information.
The meetings do not need to be very frequent nor onerous and will focus on actively managing the changes that our village may face and seeking to improve the existing services it needs.
