Parish Update
The parish council has a contractor to carry out general cleaning, tidying, mowing, weeding, etc. for parts of the village where debris and weeds can look untidy and sometimes cause visibility or safety issues. This contract cannot cover all the village due to financial restrictions and residents are encouraged to look after 'their patch' whenever and wherever possible but we do try to keep the central area on Huishlane End clear and safe as possible as well as the Millennium Orchard and Play Area, the path leading to the village hall, the mown path through the verge on the east side of the village by the traffic calming junction, as well as verges on Southway North Park Road and at the top of Church Hill.
Some verges are mown by the local authority, Teignbridge District Council (TDC), including the green on Four Oaks Road. The parish council is currently reviewing the extent of this work and the frequency of the work carried out by TDC. Once the review is complete the parish council will give an update.
Here are some photographs taken of the work carried out last week. For information, it is hoped that the clear panels in the bus shelters in the centre of the village are to be replaced in the new year. This work is to be funded jointly by the parish council and Devon County Council.
