An Invitation From Devon County Council Highways Officer

A meeting with the Highways Officer for this area takes place before the parish council meeting on MONDAY, 3rd MARCH, 2025 in the John Bromell Room at Tedburn St Mary Village Hall at 6.45 pm - ALL ARE WELCOME.

The parish council has received complaints over the past months of blocked drains, potholes, flooding, etc. The parish council is happy to support when problems are not solved but does not have jurisdiction over highways. This is the responsibility of the Devon County Council (DCC) Highways team.

The parish clerk meets monthly with the Highways Officer to flag up any ongoing issues.  At the last meeting, the clerk raised the issues reported to her but the Highways Officer showed the clerk that no problems had been reported in Tedburn St Mary Parish. She was using the data given to her by DCC. It originates from the items raised on the DCC Report a Problem page where anyone can report an issue and this is sent direct to the Highways Team.

In response, the Highways Officer is holding a half-hour public meeting where she will give a short talk about how Highways works and take questions. She will also demonstrate how best to report issues on-line.

The parish clerk will be in attendance to take away any questions that cannot satisfactorily be answered at the time. (the parish council meeting will begin promptly at 7.30 pm).
