PARISH COUNCIL ELECTIONS 2023

TEDBURN ST MARY PARISH COUNCIL SEATS ARE UP FOR ELECTION THIS YEAR

HOW TO APPLY

Parish councils are the first rung of the democratic system and closest to the communities they serve.

If you would like to stand as a councillor you need to complete a nomination form and get two people living within your community to support you. Anyone who agrees to support your candidacy must be willing to sign your nomination and they also need to be registered electors who are entitled to vote for you.

This form must be delivered in person, between Monday 20th March and the deadline of 4 pm Tuesday 4th April 2023 to Teignbridge District Council, Forde House, Brunel Road, Newton Abbot, TQ12 4XX.

When you contact Electoral Services to request a nomination pack please remember to include: - your full name - home address - the council you will be standing for. YOU CAN BECOME A COUNCILLOR IF:- 

• You are a British or a citizen of the Commonwealth or European Union

• You are 18 years and over

• You are registered to vote in the area

• You have lived, worked or owned property there for at least 12 months before an election.

• You have not been declared bankrupt or disqualified from being elected

• You are not a council employee

You do not need to belong to a political party.
